Problem: Congested marina hotspots, no connectivity underway, wifi limited to the cockpit.
Solution: Maritime Starlink mounted on the mast head, Pepwave router with automatic 4G failover, 4 UniFi APs in cabins and saloon.
Result: Stable connection underway and at anchor, crew and guests connected everywhere, seamless 4G failover when Starlink drops.
Context: Boutique hotel on the French side, outdated wifi, persistent guest complaints.
Problem: Ageing consumer-grade APs, no captive portal, guest and PMS networks on the same VLAN.
Solution: 12 UniFi APs, FortiGate 60F, 3 VLANs (guests, PMS, management), branded captive portal, new Cat6 cabling.
Result: Zero wifi complaints in the following season, secure PMS access, management satisfied with the centralised dashboard.
Context: Chain of 3 shops on the Dutch side, ageing tills, non-compliant card terminals.
Problem: Payment terminals on the main network, PCI-DSS risk, outdated POS software.
Solution: New POS software, dedicated POS VLAN, contactless card terminals, Stormshield firewall, staff training.
Result: PCI-DSS compliance, fewer payment incidents, reduced training time thanks to the new interface.
